Can’t believe its been a year since Hampton… That sure was some weekend. To celebrate, I made another Phish mix. I actually didn’t even include anything from Hampton…. Maybe this mix is more a celebration of a year since the return of Phish….
One of the few soundboards to have leaked from Big Cypress. One of the seminal jams from this monumental Performance
A perfect soundboard. Some of the hardest Phish Phunk ever performed. A ghost for the ages….
Bela is one of the few guest musicians that can sit in with Phish and improve the music. This is just a fun little improv section from one of these occasions
There are some days where I think to myself that this is the best Phish jam ever. Its probably when I realize that around the 30 minute mark, my brain is floating on Pluto. The QT section is just a perfect display of pure ambient goodness. Its like floating on air…. Oh ya…. Soundboard… nice…..
Another killer soundboard. This Halleys is a journey. It reaches all good places. Don’t really even know how to describe it, just that this Halleys is absolutely must-hear Phish.
August 93… one of THE months of Phish. This Reba is a rager… Very reminiscent of the Gin from the Murat Theater just 3 days before.
Dissolves into pure 99 ambient floating for quite some time. Definitely a mind bender. Recently i’ve been getting such an appreciation for 1999 as an incredible year of Phish.
A 30 minute Free. Enough said. Features some heavy 95 percussive playing, yet reaches some pretty intense places on the way. Making this an absolutely unique version of Free. Even features a whistling section around 25 minutes, followed by a magestic ending
Just a perfectly executed version of Slave. Such a powerful ending. Will leave you clenching your fists and wanting more….
Just a beautiful song. No other words can really describe this Simple. Its just an amazing version. Its been released on Hampton Comes Alive
Also known as the “Freekapaug” for the madness happening on stage. While I can’t imagine what it must have been like to be there, on tape, this Weekapaug still holds up as one for the ages. Its just relentless.
After that ridiculous Weekapaug, I figured I’d give you a breather. This Driver is a highlight from one of my favorite sets of Phish – the acoustic set at 8
soundboard!! This was such an incredible night. The jam leading up to this 2001 just so great, and when Fishmans busts into the 2001 beat, everything just flows to perfection.
The MLB jam in the intro is what I call triumphant Phish. And really, its just the beginning to a masterpiece of a Bowie. From beginning to end, its one of Phish’s all timers… Very nice soundboard as well.
If YEM is the quintessential Phish jam, and 6/11/94 is the quintessential YEM, then whats that saying?
A true classic. I felt like in 2009, this tune’s importance was realized again. This song is just the essence of Phish. What Phish was built off of. This early version is performed with such youthful energy, its revitalizing to hear…
The funk was so deep, they just couldn’t stop…
92 is just a perfect year for Hoods. Their style of jamming during this year complemented Hood jams. They were beginning to test the waters of what they could produce with this jam…. and man… Hoods have gone to some incredible places…. This one is an early highlight….
Come on, everyone should hear this at least once. Its actually pretty good! And a soundboard!
